With only eight people in the Bruin wrestling team’s lineup at the Francis Howell North Tournament Jan. 28, the team placed second out of 10 teams.
Senior Andre McKinnon (220), sophomore Eli Stout (152) and freshman Graham Ratermann (126) placed fourth. Sophomore Jason Kiene (120) and senior Harry Schauwecker (170) each got third in their brackets; senior Trent Johnson received third place in the 138-pound bracket, and sophomores Sam Crane and Cody Maly won at 132 and 182, respectively.
Schauwecker said he was impressed with the team’s performance. It “shows we’re getting better, and we still have stuff that we can work on and get better,” Schauwecker said.
