Fine arts earn All-State honors

On Saturday, Nov. 3, choir students auditioned for the 2012 All-State Choir. One month later, on Saturday, Dec. 3, band and orchestra students auditioned for 2012 All-State concert band, jazz band and orchestra.
Music students from across Missouri compete yearly for spots in All-State ensembles after hours of practice. Students who made the ensembles will congregate at Tan-Tar-A resort Jan. 25-28 for the annual Missouri Music Educators Association Conference. After rehearsing for three days, each group will give a final concert on Saturday, Nov. 28.

- Kaleb Jacks (11): 2nd chair jazz alto sax
- Molly Krueger* (12): 1st chair oboe
- Dalton Maggard (11): jazz vibraphone
- Adam Roebuck* (12), split-lead jazz trumpet
- Daniel Shapiro (10): 9th chair trumpet
- Christina Wang* (12): 2nd chair flute
- David Wang** (11): 1st chair percussion option 2
- Joanne Lee (12): Cello
- Daphne Yu* (11): Violin
