Though the lukewarm Missouri weather on Saturday, Dec. 1 didn’t conjure up cozy images of hand-frosted reindeer sugar cookies or grainy holiday music or toes wiggling by the fire, inside RBHS, where “Breakfast with Santa” was taking place, holiday cheer kissed every beaming face.
“Breakfast with Santa,” an annual event at RBHS, raises money for the senior class’ prom and picnic, but the senior “elves” this year took it upon themselves to make sure the happiness of every little kid at RBHS was their first priority. And whether they were crafting ornaments, getting Christmas trees painted onto their faces or whispering their wishes into Santa’s patient ear, the kids had a busy, but nevertheless happy time, senior Rebecca Burke-Aguero said.
“I really liked seeing the kids all excited about Christmas,” Burke-Aguero said. “I know it’s only December first and 60 degrees, but I think it was still really exciting to get into the spirit of it. It’s a really fun childhood memory for them to have – I never went to one of these when I was younger, so it just seems like a lot of fun for them.”
