Starbucks is an all-American coffee company known for their diverse drinks and great place for study sessions; however, their lack of racial acceptance has caused them backlash.
After numerous racial incidents including April 12 where a Starbucks’ manager called the police to arrest two black men at a Philadelphia location, Starbucks has announced plans on April 17th to close all US stores for the afternoon of May 29.
Starbucks said in a statement it plans to “conduct racial-bias education geared toward preventing discrimination in our stores…The training will be provided to nearly 175,000 partners (employees) across the country, and will become part of the on boarding process for new partners,”
Bearing News decided to go out into the hallways of RBHS and personally ask a few students their opinions regarding Starbucks decision and the situation in general.
