When shooting photos, light is what makes it possible to capture the images. I love night photography because the light source is very isolated which can create a mystical mood. In these images I was experimenting with street lights and how they make a portrait appear haunting. I wanted others to see exactly what I saw in the faint light.
Looking off into the street light, Katie’s eyes appear hallow as if something possesses her.
I like this image because it just shows the outline and texture of the clothing . I image that the subject is alone in the darkness thinking about a tragic event.
This faceless image conveys a sense of low self worth and how she is just a body getting lost in a crowd.
This picture has a sense of urgency and desperation to get to the light. Emotion is very important to me when I am photographing.
