Senior Ben Lopez is not only smart, talented and charming, he also has a vast network of friends that helped him find his happiness. After losing his father in December 2016, he relied on the comfort of his friends to help him regain the joy he once had.
“I find my happiness in all my friends and walking to school and seeing their faces light up when they see me. Going throughout my day and seeing my friends in the hallway and having them say hello to me. Until about eighth grade, I didn’t really have any friends and now I have so many amazing friends. It just makes me so happy that I’ve come so far and been able to make friends and become the person that I am. When my dad died in December, it was really hard for me and I didn’t really know what to do because he had been there forever. Now he’s gone. I feel like it was a really hard time for me. I invited my friends to help me grow stronger and become the person that I was again.”
