On our trip I seemed to unconsciously pay extra attention to the water and the way it plays off colors and light around it.
With autumn in full swing, hues of reds, yellows and oranges flood Columbia. When combined with the right lighting, they create breathtaking views I would have never believed one could find in our humble city. With a photography itch in need of scratching (and a photography class assignment), I ventured out into the world of color. These are some sights that were just too beautiful to pass up. I fully believe Fall is truly present only when the crunch of leaves is heard, so as my Photography 1 class wandered out into Rock Bridge State Park Fall definitely was here.Though some leaves had already fallen fate to the patterns of autumn the forest was curiously still vividly green.The effect water reflections can have on a pictures can be positively stunning, images are always more interesting when the point of view is changed in some way.I love the way the movement of the water reflects the sky, its almost more beautiful then just the sky alone.On our trip I seemed to unconsciously pay extra attention to the water and the way it plays off colors and light around it.This fenced in field, spectacularly illuminated by the sun created a light opportunity I just couldn’t let myself pass by.I couldn’t believe the contrast between the greens and the reds and browns, it was as if summer and Autumn were fighting for the best nature display.During this trip my teacher encouraged us to think of landscape in different ways and pay attention to the many ways it could be viewed.The phenomenon known as fall never ceases to amaze me with its breathtaking colors and unique lighting, and even though it was cold and my fingers were frozen, I’m extremely glad my class took a field trip to experience something that is impossible to teach in a class room. The ability to notice, capture and appreciate the natural beauty around us.
