Second amendment drives national discussion

On April 28, 1996, a man armed with a semiautomatic rifle shot and killed 35 people around Port Arthur in Tasmania, Australia. On Feb. 14, an armed student shot and killed 17 people in Parkland, Fla, United States. In both the countries, the gun laws following the events were drastically different, drawing controversy over the second amendment in the United States.
