The Common Core is an allotment of academic guidelines in math and English.The standards first set by state education chiefs and governors from 48 different states, that establishes what a student should have knowledge of by the end of each grade from kindergarten through senior year. 

Affirmative action is intended to level the playing field and give equal access to historically disadvantaged minorities (on the basis of race, sex, disability, etc.) in education and in the workforce. Some say it violates the Equal Protection clause of the 14th amendment.

Politicians like Bernie Sanders and Elizabeth Warren seek free tuition at four-year public universities for all American citizens, as well as clearing many citizens’ student debt. Others, like Sen. Joe Biden, argue that only two years of community college or trade school should be paid for, and some believe that there shouldn’t be any level of free college.
