“Life would be very different [without Sami],” LaHue said. “She helps me with many little things, as well as the big issues in our lives. We know everything about each other and just not having that person to confide in would be very hard.”
Since the day they met in Kindergarten, LaHue and Alexander have shared countless moments at LaHue’s lake house, breaking out into bubble fights while attempting to wash dishes together. Back home in Columbia, they help each other pick out outfits, do homework, answer texts and stay motivated. They love the sisterhood they share.

“I see my relationship with Julia as equally impactful, if not more impactful, than a romantic relationship,” Alexander said. “We have nothing to hide from one another. It’s really powerful to have someone know you fully–the good, the bad and the ugly–and still pursue a relationship with you.”
Even after they part ways in college, LaHue said it will be impossible to ever forget what she shares with Alexander, and they know that one day their kids will be as close as cousins.
