Why are you running for Student Council?
I am running for sophomore Student Council representative because I want to help give a voice to my fellow students’ opinions and ideas.
What impact do you hope to make as a Student Council representative?
By representing my peers, I hope to have an impact in changing Rock Bridge for the better and making it a more enjoyable place to go to school for present and future students.
What qualities do you have that makes you qualified to be a  Student Council representative?
I believe I am very qualified to be in student council because I am responsible and I am not afraid to take on a challenge. For example, I always get my homework turned in on time, and this year I am taking all honors and Advanced Placement courses.
What are you looking to change in student council this year?
Some things I would like to change this year include: getting a louder bell system so it can be heard easily be heard throughout the whole school, moving the microwaves out of the kitchen to alleviate crowding and make it more easily accessible for people who bring their lunches, along with fixing or getting more microwaves so there are more than just one functioning, and finally, if possible, it would be nice to have wider parking spaces. I would do everything in my power to try to accomplish these goals, along with anything else one of my peers suggests.
What is something you would like to see Rock Bridge more involved in?
Rock Bridge is a very involved school, with all the clubs and sports they offer to students. If there was one thing I would like to see us more involved in, though, it would be helping animals. I would like to start a club that volunteers with pets at places such as the Central Missouri Humane Society and Columbia Second Chance.
What do you think the student body is looking for in a candidate?
I think the student body is looking for a capable and hardworking representative that will readily listen to their ideas and try their hardest to implement them, and I believe they will find all that in me.
What activities are you involved in?

This year I am involved in many activities. I am a member of Rock Bridge Reaches Out, volunteering with The Intersection and Stream Team cores. After school on Mondays, I volunteer at Boone Hospital Center, where I also volunteered this summer. I will be a member of Junior Classical League and attend the state convention, where I will enter different competitions. I also plan on being a member of Scholar Bowl, which is a club that participates in academic trivia tournaments. Finally, once basketball season starts, I will play on a Columbia Youth Basketball Association team.
What would you consider to be your strengths and weaknesses?
I consider my stubbornness to be both a strength and a weakness. I am always very persistent in trying to get things done, and put my best effort into everything I do. This is also a weakness because it can make me unwilling to see the reason behind opposing.
If you were given $1,000 what would you do with it?
If I was given $1000, I would donate some of it to the Central Missouri Humane Society and put the rest of it into savings to help me pay for college.
What is one thing you want the Rock Bridge Student body to know about you?
The student body should know that I went to West Jr. High School, where last year I played on the volleyball and basketball teams. Last year I also went to Hickman High School in the mornings to take Latin, and I transferred to Rock Bridge. And of course, I would really appreciate your vote!
