Why are you running for this position?
I am good with numbers, and I have been on student council for the last two years. So I just thought it would be fun to run for a position this year.
What impact do you hope to make while in office?
The chair people are talking about how we can get in and get involved with the school. I hope I can give back to the school and I just think that maybe I can help defer the math and help more with where the money goes.
What have you done to campaign?
Nothing yet because I have not really been at school this week.
What makes you qualified for this position?
I have been on Student Council for two years whereas the other two have not been on it yet. So that helps because then I know how stuff comes and goes and how each job is done at the meetings.
What qualities do you have that would make you a good candidate for the office?
I am organized and responsible. I am good with numbers.
What politician do you model your campaign after?
I don’t really have one.
Where do you see yourself politically in 10 years?
I don’t really see myself going into a politics career, but if I did I think it would be cool to work somewhere with the Supreme Court.
How are you reaching out to the community to help your campaign?
I’m not.
What are your ideas about the playground additions on the north side of the school?
I have not seen that, but I think that’s very cool. I have been taking classes here for four years and it’s been the same playground for the four years I have been here and it was looking really worn down. I think it’s really cool. I think it is appropriate [to use our money for that]. I feel like our money could be used for other things, but the preschool kids also go to school here and they probably don’t have a big budget so if they can get a new playground that is a good thing for them.
What do you think the student body is looking for in a candidate?
Someone who will reach out to the school, look for the ideas in others and bring them to the meeting. Someone who is organized and responsible and can be a good leader.
