Fairytale fashion: best of homecoming spirit week

RBHS held its annual homecoming spirit week Oct. 17-22, with lunchtime games, hallway decorations and dress-up days taking place leading up to the homecoming dance on Saturday, Oct. 23. Following this year’s “Enchanted” theme, student council (StuCo) set a different spirit theme for each day of the week.

Student-run blood drive faced changes amidst COVID-19 restrictions

Rock Bridge Reaches Out (RBRO) and the RBHS Student Council (StuCo) held their annual blood drive Monday Nov. 30. Since all CPS buildings are closed due to the COVID-19 pandemic, students held the drive at the Woodcrest Church instead of RBHS. According to the online flyer advertising the event, the drive required social distancing within the building and that participants and volunteers wear masks.

StuCo to hold seventh annual Hot Chocolooza

Student Council (StuCo) will hand out free hot chocolate in North and Main commons after school today, Jan. 10. StuCo holds the event, Hot Chocolooza, to celebrate the first week of second semester. This will be the seventh year that Hot Chocolooza has occurred, club sponsor Kelley Wittenborn said. StuCo puts on two other events like this throughout the year, Wittenborn said, to give back to students and make their time at school enjoyable.

Stacy Self, the artist known as Wildy, brought her talent and passion for connecting with people through art to the Roots n Blues n Barbecue festival Saturday afternoon. Her interactive murals inspired collaboration, creativity and community among the young artists who helped her paint them.
