Anti-vaxxers challenge U.S. health security

Even as inoculation has evolutionized through myriads of diseases and discovery and grown strong in the presence of modern science and technology, skeptics are hesitant to subscribe to the idea. Anti-vaxxers, or people who do not support vaccination, challenge the needed participation in mass vaccination as Americans continue to fight the COVID-19 pandemic.
Senior captains Anel Castro and Aubrey Sanders cheer in sync during their routine. Sanders loves the family her team has become. "We have been practicing together since April of last year," Sanders said.  "We have had some ups and downs with losing some people, we have persevered. We all know each other’s weaknesses and strengths and we are able to give one another encouragements to keep doing their best in the routine."

Cheer squad confident for state competition

The varsity cheer team will compete Oct. 28 at the Hearnes Center for the state competition. In addition to their state routine, they will add a 30 second routine in order to include senior Sydney Kent, a student with Down syndrome.
