This looks like a big bowl of cheese. Really, it is a big bowl of sweet potatoes. The sheer amount of potato that went into this dish was overwhelming. SO much orange.

Cupcakes are usually sweet -- but this day, I tried something different. The recipe said I was making mini Shepard's pie, but  I think it was more of a delicious sweet potato, pork and veggie cupcake....

Possibly the most exciting part of baking a cake is when the layers get stacked. The cake itself is finally cool enough to add icing to, and the brown outside layer, where the butter has created this delicious outer butter casing, waits impatiently for the cool frosting to come. This step makes my tired day giddy. I start imagining the decorations that will adorn the top of my creation.
