Bruins drop district quarterfinal game to Blue Springs

Down 17-10 late in the fourth quarter, the Bruins were in dire need of a touchdown. Senior quarterback Grant Hajicek took the snap and danced from foot to foot, scanning down the field for receivers with golden helmets and white jerseys. He saw senior running back Miles Cheatum running a wheel route.

QB focus: faith, family, football

Growing up, senior Grant Hajicek attended various Mizzou sporting events. The joy of these games inspired him to participate in athletics, so he quickly signed up to play football, basketball and baseball.

As the Battle Spartans took a knee to run out the clock, a dejected Bruin team dispersed throughout the field to shake hands with its crosstown rivals. After the display of sportsmanship, the home squad scattered to the end zone near the scoreboard.
