Relentlessly scoring, the Lady Bruins stomped away their competition in their sectionals match-up against Lebanon, 61-43.

Junior guard Katey Klucking scored an astounding 30 points, almost half of her team’s total. Despite this record, Klucking remained humble and attributed the win to her team.

“Once I made my first [3-point shot] my teammates really just looked to get me the ball for the shot because it was working,” They kept going in because everyone was doing their job. It all started from getting the rebound at the other end allowing us to set up our offense.”
Naturally the girls are eager to advance and try their hand at the state title. Head coach Jill Nagel is confident and eager to keep traveling and spending time with her team.
“I love being with this team,” Nagel said. “ [They all have] fun and unique personalities. I enjoy coming to practice everyday so i am just glad to have at least two more practices with them.”
Senior guard Elle Brown was more than happy with the team’s performance and emphasized how well Klucking performed.
“[The game] was awesome. We came out ready to play right off the bat and that energy helped us throughout the game. [Klucking] played phenomenally tonight, and was shooting lights out.  She got rebounds and hustled really well. The rest of our team was outstanding too. We had great defensive stop and our offense was really clicking.”
Sectionals are behind the Bruins, and their next match up in the quarterfinals against Southwest Baptist will be a decisive and historic game.
“We took the lead early we made a couple great passes for easy layups,” Klucking said. “We also passed the ball around to find open shooters, the three point line was our friend tonight as well as the block. We played defense really well, forced them to make quick shots and passes and we were able to secure the rebound and get our passes up the court for some transition layups. Overall we played great team basketball, and I’m super happy we pulled out the win”
