[dropcap size=”4″]F[/dropcap]rom Peace Park to the Boone County Courthouse, chants and songs echoed through the streets of downtown Columbia on the evening of Wednesday, Nov. 16. Citizens of all ages, races, genders and sexualities gathered in Peace Park to walk in protest in the Peace Walk Against Hatred. Passionate and opinionated participants crowded the sidewalks for an eight block journey toward musical performances and guest speakers.

The inspiring night showed Columbia’s active voice in making a change and uniting the group to push towards one goal: equality for all. Colorful signs and encouraging words covered the sidewalks and provided a safe, strong community. The event resulted in more than 1,000 attendees and supplied entertainment and purpose.
