After the first week of the April session of Camp NaNoWriMo, an event that encourages writers to work on projects of their own length over the course of one month, members of the National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo) Club motivated each other in their projects by staying late after school Friday, April 8. Similar to the annual lock-ins the club hosts, the “late night” helped the students increase their word counts using short activities and group prompts. This time the night also included team competitions and a scavenger hunt, similar to the activities of a traditional summer camp.
Since this event took place in the midst of the second week of Camp NaNoWriMo’s April session, the following five members all received the chance to start their projects and begin to dedicate more time to their writing and the stories they have chosen to work on. Listen below to hear each writer discuss the progress they made during the late night and about their goals for the rest of the month.
