A seventeen-year old, Geraldine Hoff Doyle, is the model for the iconic image of Rosie the Riveter. She worked at an Ann Arbor, Michigan plant that manufactured metal. It was her picture on the huge posters displayed all over America. The image is not protected under copyright law and is used under the fair use doctrine.

I feel like the purpose of women’s history is not to have one ultimate woman, but instead to show every girl their potential. It’s so every girl knows she can make history.
