The Bruins extended their unbeaten record this season to 5-0, Monday, Dec. 17 with a 81-49 rout over the DeSmet Jesuit Spartans.
Senior forward Eric Kuse scored 10 points, all in the first quarter, as by the end of the game with a large Bruins’ lead many younger players were seeing significant playing time to gain experience.
“I think the team came out ready to compete,” Kuse said. “With a lot of confidence and intensity which I think helped us to shoot the ball extremely well. Our defense led us to easy baskets in transition.”
Kuse said he doesn’t worry about pressure from the unbeaten streak, although the toughest competition of the season is still yet to come, and there are always things a team can improve on to ensure future success.
“I think we need to do a better job of playing hard and together, also having some leadership out on the floor,” Kuse said. “As far as the unbeaten streak, it’s fun and exciting but not pressuring by any means.”
