Every year in early December, senior RBHS students organize “Breakfast with Santa”, a Christmas themed event as a fundraiser for the senior class that goes toward things like prom, the senior picnic, and the banquet.
After school ended Friday Dec. 5, many seniors stayed behind and collaboratively set up tables, Christmas trees, and other decorations.
On the morning of Saturday Dec. 6, dozens of young children will rush into the school, admiring the many decorations that senior volunteers set up the night before, and explore activities such as types of crafts and games and a Santa.
Senior Bailey Lawson was on the publicity committee for the event, whose purpose was to raise public awareness for the event. However she will be unable to attend the event itself as she will be out of town, but said that kids of all ages are welcome to come.
“Basically any age that still believes in Santa,” Lawson said.
Senior Kelsey Knorr was also on the publicity committee, and believes that the event helps RB students interact with the community that they live in.
“The event hosts many families from our community,” Knorr said. “It brings joy to their Christmas season.”
