Total Cost: $10.22
Assembly time: 15 minutes
Materials:
Glass votive candle holders ($1.49 each)
Small, scented candles ($0.50 each)
1 yard lace trim ($1.47)
1 yard decorative beading ($2.78)
Hot glue or scrap-booking glue
Scissors
Instructions:
Step 1: Begin by wrapping the lace trim around one votive candle holder to measure how long each strip must be and proceed to use your scissors to cut the lace into strips of equal length, one for each candle holder you are making. I chose to make three, but you can make more if you want to distribute these candles as holiday gifts for your friends. Repeat this step with the decorate beading.
Step 2: Apply even strips of glue around the top and the bottom of one of the glass candle holders. For my project, I used a tube of scrap-booking glue because of the easy application, but if you want your project to dry faster, hot glue is probably the best option.
Step 3: Wrap the lace trim evenly and tightly around the candle holder, pressing it firmly in place.
Step 4: Squeeze a thin strip of glue around the bottom of the candle holder and wrap the beading around the glue strip, pressing it into place.
Step 5: Place the scented candles inside of each glass votive candle holder. When the glue is fully dry, place the candles around your house for decoration and a heavenly holiday scent, or hand them out to friends and neighbors in the spirit of giving.
