Today after school, Student Council will be hosting the annual Hot Choco-looza for students to enjoy a cup of the hot deliciousness. Tables will be set out in the main courtyard, with around 600-800 cups of hot chocolate available for students.
Hot Choco-looza “is just a fun way to welcome everybody back to the start of second semester,” assistant principal David Bones said. “For a long time, [RBHS] did Popsicle-looza to start the year in the fall. And a few years back, student council thought, ‘Let’s just do something 2nd semester too,’ and since it’s cold — or usually cold — we’re going to be at 60 degrees doing hot choco-looza.”
This event is also an opportunity for the youngest members of StuCo to plan a project, as Hot Choco-looza is only run by sophomores. Although it is their first big project alone, it is still a fun experience for them.
“I’m excited to see how it will turn out, ” sophomore StuCo member Anmol Sethi said. “My favorite part is probably that I got to have something that I was directly involved in … Sophomores are in charge of it, and it will be fun to have something that sophomores can be proud of. Everyone will enjoy the yummy free hot chocolate.”

I was there! I love all these “palooza”s. I mean, hey, free food!
