Softball Bruins take it home with another win tonight, Aug. 29, against their state rivals the Jefferson City Jaybirds.
Although JV lost 7-3, varsity dominated in the 13-7 victory over the Jays. This win keeps the Bruins undefeated at 6-0.
“My hope is that we continue to grow as a team,” senior Krista Blomenkamp said “and win some more ball games to set us up well for post-season.”
Throughout the game, the Bruins displayed several impressive double plays and some nice digs. These techniques were enough to bring the RB girls a comfortable win over the Jays. The team enjoys winning games, but appreciate its teammates just as much.
“Being the only senior,” Blomenkamp said, “I am so thankful and extremely blessed to have these girls by my side.”
With this team spirit and support, the stakes are high to continue their streak in the upcoming game Friday, Aug. 31, against the Sedalia Smith Cotton Tigers.
