Walking through the halls leaving second hour Tuesday, May 8, it was easy to tell what day it was. Today was yearbook day. Students smiled, enjoying the feel and the smell of their freshly printed yearbooks. This year’s edition, “Intersect,” was popular among students and sparked interest all over the school.
Most sophomores were completely stunned by the size and contents of their school’s yearbook. Sophomore Kayla Arckenger said, “It is huge,” sophomore Kayla Arckenger said.
Likewise, sophomore Carly Roar was pleasantly surprised by the breadth of coverage.
“It’s awesome,” Roar said. “It’s even more [than expected].”
Juniors and seniors looked to the yearbook for other reasons. Junior Nichols Godas said even as a junior he enjoyed seeing the new people and clubs he had not been aware of. He said he purchased “Flashback” “for the memories.” The yearbook has “always new information, new faces [every year].”
One student new to the school said she enjoyed what she saw in her first high school yearbook. She said she loved the emotions it brought when looking through all the past year’s photos.
“It is like Facebook so you can stalk them, but it’s through a yearbook,” said sophomore Rachel Doisy. “It’s cute. [The yearbook] makes me feel cute.”
Approximately 50 yearbooks remain for purchase. Staff members have a list of those wanting to buy a book and will decide by tomorrow, May 10, how they will distribute the remaining books.
“Flashback” brought many more emotions and excited reactions. Check out the pictures below by Muhammad Al-Rawi to see more students enjoying their yearbook.
