What started as just a tent on Tuesday, Nov. 1 became a stable structure for cows, bunnies and other farm animals as RBHS celebrated agriculture on their very own “Ag Day.” The national Agriculture day is March 13 annually, but students said they were still pleased to take part in this one, albeit the frigid, 50 degree weather.
“It was pretty chilly, but the wind really got me,” junior Shelby Richardson said. “Would it be great if the weather was nicer? Yes. Did it ruin A,g day for me? No. I still had a lot of fun, regardless.”
Students could even try out their milking skills and, for some teens, the opportunity to see animals they often didn’t.
“I think they should have Ag day every year,” Richardson said. “I would bet that not a lot of high school students know that much about agriculture. Even if you do not want to pursue a career in agriculture, I still think it is an interesting and engaging enough to learn about.”
