On Oct. 18, the choirs held a concert that showcased 14 songs. Organizers hoped the variety of music would give each of the three choirs having their moment to shine. From Mixed Chamber Choir to Concert Choir to Women’s Chamber Choir, the audience had a variety of songs to hear, including French Madrigal songs and traditional hymnals.
Junior Eryn Wanyonyi, a member of Mixed Chamber Choir, thought the concert went great.
“It was exciting and fun, and I think we sang really well,” Wanyonyi said. “All the choirs did really well.”
The choirs had been preparing for this concert since the beginning of the year. Wanyonyi said getting the choir to learn the music wasn’t that hard and they seemed to pull it together fairly quickly.
“If there’s a problem we fix it pretty quickly, so everyone understands the notes,” Wanyonyi said. “Mr. Pierson is really good about making sure everyone knows what they’re supposed to do and understands the music, but also what it means.”
All the choirs have began preparing for the winter concert, scheduled for December.
